DURAS are the floodplains and foothills of the eastern Himalayas in north east India around Bhutan.
Terai is a belt of marshy land at the foot of mountains at the foot of the Himalayas in North India.

- The Duars also known as Dooars are the alluvial floodplains in originated in eastern-northeastern India they lie to the south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin where the region is nearly 30 km wide which stretches over roughly 350 km from the Teesta River which is in West Bengal to the Dhansiri River which is in Assam.
