The electric dipole moment is a measure of the separation of positive and negative electrical charges within a system, that is, a measure of the system's overall polarity. The SI units for electric dipole moment are coulomb-meter (C. · m); however, the most common unit is the debye (D).

Hope it's help u

Answer:

--> Dipole moment is a measure of polarity of a chemical bond between

    two atoms  in a molecule.

--> Its S.I unit is Cm [ Coulomb metre]

--> Its common unit is Debye(D).

--> 1D = 3.33×10⁻³ Cm.

--> The important significance of dipole moment is :

    Predicting   the nature of the molecules- that is molecules with zero

    dipole moment  are non polar while the molecule with specific dipole

    moment are polar in nature.
