Given:

charge(q) = 5mC

distance(r) = 50cm

To Find:

electric field intensity(E) =?

Define electric field intensity.

Explanation:

Electric Field intensity (E), a vector quantity is defined as a force experienced by a unit charge placed at that point.

The mathematical expression of E is

E = \dfrac{F}{q} = \dfrac{1}{4\pi \epsilon} \dfrac{q}{r^{2} }

Now, we have q =5mC = 5 \times 10^{-3} C and r = 50cm = 0.5m and \dfrac{1}{4\pi \epsilon} = 9\times10^{9}

On putting values in the above equation

E = \dfrac{9\times 10^{9} \times 5 \times 10^{-3}  }{0.5^{2} }

E = 1.8 \times 10^{8} N/C
