Answer : Potential difference is the difference in the amount of energy that charge carriers have between two points in a circuit. A potential difference of one Volt is equal to one Joule of energy being used by one Coulomb of charge when it flows between two points in a circuit.

Answer:

Theoretically, This is the Work done to move a unit charge from one terminal of a conductor to the other. This is the difference of the potential at the two ends of the battery or any energy source. The battery is composed of two terminals, one is positive and other is negative. which are at different potentials. so in order to understand such concepts of emf ,potential difference is used.
