Electric power is defined as rate of doing work. OR The rate at which electric energy is dissipated in an electric circuit Or the rate of consumption of energy
P=VI,where Vis potential difference nd I is electric current

Electrical Power is defined as the rate at which the electrical energy is supplied by the force.
If a source of potential difference V sends a current I for the time t in a resistor R the charge passed is Q=It and energy supplied by the source is W=QV
Then power P=energy supplied W/time t=QV
Since Q=It
P=VIt/t=VI
