a compound or a functional group that attracts the electrons or accepts the electron pair especially from the nucleophile just to form a bond is called electrophile.

while nucleophile

nucleo - + - phile

by separating the word only you would come to know that it is attractive to centre with positive charges and it also donates electron and especially it donates electron pair to electrophile.

Hope this helps you:)
