Charles Coulomb once quantified this force to be the directly proportional to the product of a constant, charge of the first body and charge of the second body. It is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the centers of the two bodies.

Electrostatic force is generated by static charges.
Electrostatic force between point like stationary charges is according to Coulomb's law.
Electrostatic force between like charges is repulsive, whereas it is attractive between unlike charges.
Electrostatic force - field is conservative.
If E is strength of electrostatic force - field then Curl E= 0.
We can define potential in electrostatic force- field.
We have Gauss' law in electrostatic force- field.
We have Laplace's and Poission's equations to obtain the potential in the field.

ELECTROSTATIC FORCE:

  • electrostatic force is described as coulomb's law ...electrostatics deals with forces between charges.static means the charges are not moving ,or at least are not moving very fast.
  • And the electrostatic force ,one of the four frundamental forces of nature
