Embryo is the the next stage of zygote where some parts of the baby can be observed.

The process of fusion of sperm and ovum is called as fertilisation.

Ovum:ovum is the female gamete which gets secreted from the ovary of female reproductive system which get fused with sperm.

Sperm:Sperm is the male gamete which gets secreted from the male reproductive system.It gets secreted from the testis of male reproductive system.To travel in the blood stream to fuse with ovum it has tail.

the embryo has a group of shells at its root and shoot tips. the cells are small, thin-walled and full of cytoplasm. they have a large nucleus. the divide rapidly and continuously as a result of which the plant gains height.

definition of fertilization:

the fusion of male gamete and female gamete is known as fertilization.

definition of ovum and sperms:

the male organisms produce male gamets called sperms while the female organism produce the female gametes called ova (singular ovum).

difference between ovum and sperm:

ovum:

i) released one at a time.

ii) unable to move on their own.

iii) comparatively large.

iv) a lot of cytoplasm.

v) nucleus always contains an X chromosome.

sperm:

i) released in millions.

ii) able to move.

iii) very small.

iv) very little cytoplasm.

v) nucleus contains either X or Y chromosome.
