" The type of ""chemical reaction"" in which huge amount of energy is required to drive it is called as endergonic reaction.
Such type of reaction is ""non spontaneous"" and demands huge amount of energy from the surrounding.
However, exergonic reaction is directly opposite to the endergonic reaction as they supply huge amount of energy to the environment and are highly spontaneous in nature.
Photosynthesis is best example for endergonic reaction whereas cellular respiration is example for exergonic reaction. "
