★ exogenous budding: a bud develops on the surface of an organism which later on gets detached and grows into an individual.

=>examples- Hydra, yeast etc.

★ endogenous budding- a bud ( gemmule ) develops inside the body of an organism and division takes place forming new individuals.

=>examples- sponges ( both marine and freshwater )
