Hey
Energy is the work done to an object. It's SI unit is Joule per meter(J/m).
Work is defimed as force applied to move an object to do somr displacement. Its SI unit is
Joule× meter.
They both have same SI unit as both represent same thing by different meanings.

Energy is the ability/capacity to do work.
This energy makes an object to do work.
Thus both have the Same SI UNIT(Joule) which is represented as J
