Entropy is defined as the degree of randomness or disorderliness.
For example if you take solid substance the molecules of the solid are very closely packed and the there is no disorder observed hence they have least entropy whereas if you take gas the molecules are in random motion and they are not in an order hence there is more disorderness in gas phase hence gases have more entropy.


when vapor changes to liquid the randomness of the particles decrease hence entropy decreases
