Define evaporation and also discuss various factor which effect the evaporation
Answers
Answer:
Evaporation is the process of a substance in a liquid state changing to a gaseous state due to an increase in temperature and/or pressure.
Factors that affect evaporation:
- Temperature.
- Surface area of the liquid exposed to the atmosphere.
- Wind speed and.
- Humidity.
Evaporation is the process of change of a liquid into vapours at any temperature below its boiling point is called evaporation.
Factors affecting the rate of evaporation are:
1. Surface area
The rate of evaporation increases with increase in surface area and decreases with decrease in surface area.
2. Temperature
The higher the temperature, the higher the rate of evaporation the lower the temperature, the lower the rate of evaporation.
3. Humidity
The rate of evaporation increases with decrease in humidity and decreases with increase in humidity.
4. Wind speed
Increase in wind speed increases the rate of evaporation while decrease in wind speed decrease the rate of evaporation.
Hope it helps!!!
