DEFINITION OF EVOLUTION:-

Evolution is the process of acquiring change or The scientific idea that plants and animals developed gradually from simple to more complicated forms.

Process of evolution are as follows:-

1.Most life forms that we see today had variations that acccumulated overs to allow the organisms possessing them to survive better.

Examples:Elongation of neck and forelimbs in giraffe,Human evolution ( From Homo habilus to Homo sapiens-present man) ,different life process (nutrition, circulation, excretion, reproduction, etc) evolved through evolution and many more .

FOSSILS:Fossils are evidences of ancient life forms or ancient habitats which have been preserved by natural processes.

-They provide us actual remains of once lived such as bones or seeds or even traces of past events.

Examples - Dinosarus , Archeopterxy(acts as a connecting linkage between aves and reptiles),etc

The study of fossils is called Palaeontology .It determine the age of fossils by using carbon dating method.

♦ Evolution is the process of change from simple life forms to complex life forms by gradual change. It is generating diversity and shaping the diversity.

♦ It occurs over the course of time and generations by variation, speciation, natural selection, genetic drift etc. Fossils are preserved traces of living organisms.

♦ It helps us to find the intermediate forms in between two classes etc. For example fossils of archaeopteryx helps us to know better about the intermediate form between reptiles and aves.

♦ It tells about the extinct species through the fossil or their retained body impressions.

♦ It helps us to know the evolutionary relationships.

♦ This also shows the line of development from primitive to complex organisms.
