Exocytosis describes the process of vesicles fusing with the plasma membrane and releasing their contents to the outside of the cell.
Endocytosis is the process of the invagination of the plasma membrane to create the suspension of substances in a vacuole.

Phagocytosis is the invagination and creation of food vacuole for solid materials while pinocytosis is for liquid substances.
