First Law Of Motion. Isaac Newton's first law of motion, also known as the law of inertia, states that an object at rest will stay at rest and anobject in motion will stay inmotion with the same speed and direction unless acted upon by unbalanced force.

Newton's first law of motion states that an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion with the same velocity unless acted upon by what we call an unbalanced force. Let's break this law down by defining some key terms. Velocity is the speed of an object in a specified direction. An unbalanced force is an external force that changes the motion of an object. When an object is at rest or moving at a constant velocity, all the forces acting on it are balanced.
it's applications are :-

One's body movement to the side when a car makes a sharp turn.

Tightening of seat belts in a car when it stops quickly.

A ball rolling down a hill will continue to roll unless friction or another force stops it.

If pulled quickly, a tablecloth can be removed from underneath of dishes. The dishes have the tendency to remain still as long as the friction from the movement of the tablecloth is not too great.

Shaking a bottle of ketchup. When bringing the bottom down, the suddenly stopping it, inertia is what causes the ketchup to come out of the bottle.
