when a solid body moves through a liquid or a gas it also experiences this opposing force of friction. for eg a kite Flying in the air an aeroplane moving through air and a submarine moving through water they all experience this opposing force of friction. as a common name for gas and liquid is fluid the force of friction exerted by them is fluid friction. it is also called the drag of fluid

Geowink: Fluid friction occurs betweenfluid layers that are moving relative to each other. This internal resistance to flow is named viscosity. In everyday terms, the viscosity of a fluid is described as its "thickness".
