Focus- a point inside earth surface from where the earthquake starts. It is always hidden inside the earth. Focus of earthquake may be found on depth of 100-200 km

namitadhariwal: Epicentre- it is a point on earth surface which records the sesmic waves for the 1st time. The maximum destruction from earthquake is caused on epicentre. It is located just perpendicular to focus.

The point inside the crust where the pressure is released is called the focus . The point on the Earth's surface above the focus is called the epicentre . Earthquake energy is released in seismic waves. These waves spread out from the focus.
