It is measured in ‘Newton’ (N)

formula

F = m.a, where, ‘m’ stands for the mass in kilograms and ‘a’ stands for acceleration

Force is a Vector Quantity

Types of Forces

Contact Forces.

mrsonu962: Ys. friction is a push or pull force
mrsonu962: friction works after a push or pull ... so it's also a push or pull force

Force is an external influence, which changes or tends to change the state of rest or uniform motion of a body or changes the direction of a body or deforms the body.

In other words we can say that, Force is pull or push of an object which is on rest or uniform motion.

There are two types of Force:-

1. Balanced Force ⇒ Equal force acting in the opposite directions, which do not change the  state of rest or uniform motion of an object.

2. Unbalanced Force ⇒ The unequal and opposite forces acting on a body will change its state of rest or uniform motion.

Effects Of Force:-

1. A force can produce motion .

2. A force can stop motion.

3. A force can change the speed or direction of motion.

4. A force can bring about change in Dimensions. For Example- Gold flattens to form a thin leaf, if hammered.
