Explanation:

The friction force is the force

exerted by a surface as an object moves across it or makes an effort to move across it.

The factors affecting friction are:-

1)The weight of the object

2)The type of the contact between the two surfaces. Example - Skiing

The force of friction always opposes the motion of an object ,wheter the object is moving or at rest...(this is the definition for the friction of force)

Factors affecting friction:

*A rough surface has more irregularities than a smooth surface that is why the force of friction is usually greater between rough surface then it is between smooth surfaces.

*another factor that affects friction is the force of attraction between some atoms on the two surfaces which has to be overcome..

*third factor affecting friction is the force exerted by the object . The greater the force the greater the friction.

Example: due to the third factor this is why it is more difficult to move a heavy table than a light table...
