Answer:

a force is any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object. A force can cause an object with mass to change its velocity, i.e., to accelerate. Force can also be described intuitively as a push or a pull. A force has both magnitude and direction, making it a vector quantity.

Newton’s first law of motion.

Force as a concept was introduced by Newton in his first law of motion. He postulated that objects continue to do what they are presently doing unless compelled by an external agency to change it.

Force is that external agency which when acting on a body causes a change to the state of rest or motion or state of direction of the body.

A force is a push or a pull upon an object. There are two classifications for force -

a. Contact forces - When the two interacting bodies are in contact with each other. Ex : Normal force, Tension force and frictional force.

b. Non Contact forces (Action at a distance) - Forces in which the interacting bodies are not in physical contact with each other but are able to exert a push or pull despite the separation. Example - Gravitational force and Magnetic force.

Answer:

Force : Force is that which changes or tends to change the state of a body.

The force is an external effort in the form of a push or pull which moves or tries to move a body at rest ; stop or tries to stop a body in motion ; changes or tries to change the direction of motion of a body.

Newton's first law gives the definition of FORCE.
