Explanation:

Concentration in ppm (parts per million) – “It is equal to the number of milligrams of the solute present in one liter of solution .” concentration in ppm =weight of solute (mg. )/ volume of solution (l)

FORMALITY :-

=> It is define as no of mole of ion dissolve in per litre solution.

=> it is temperature dependent.

=> It is also known as molarity of ion.

formality =  \frac{no \: of \: mole \: of \: ion}{vol \: of \: solution(in \: lit)}

=>

 \frac{weight \: of \: ion \:  \times 1000}{formula \: mass \times vol(in \: ml)}

PPM( parts per million ) :-

=> It is defined as the amount of solute( in gm ) dissolved per 10^6 gm of solution.

ppm =  \frac{wt \: of \: solute}{wt \: of \: solution} \times  {10}^{6}

=> The volume of solute dissolve per 10^6 ml of solution.

ppm =  \frac{vol \: of \: solute}{vol \: of \: solution} \times   {10}^{6}

=> The concentration term is use only when amount of solute is very less.

=> It is used to determine the water pollution, air pollution.
