the remains or impression of a prehistoric plant or animal embedded in rock and preserved in petrified form is called fossil

With the help of fossils we can know the morphological details of the organisms in the past and can relate them to the organisms in the present to understand the process of evolution. We can also trace the time at which the organism existed. we can also use it as a fuel .examples are CNG,Crude Oil and Diesel

ossils are the substance which are useful for human beings such as in transportation. Coal is also a fossil fuel which is used to produced energy and these fossils are found under the ground. when the dead living thing are buried under the ground then they decompose and form fossil fuels and the process is going on for million of years
