define friction in 3 or 4 sentences
Answers
Answer:
Friction is a contact force apposing movement.
Explanation:
Friction is contact force occuring between two objects when there is a push or pull on one of the objects that could make it move over the surface of another object. As the push or pull increases the friction increases. The friction opposes the push or pull until a certain value and underneath that value the object wont move. If the strength of the push or pull on the object increases beyond this value the object will start to slide. There is still a frictional force when its sliding.
Friction is a force that acts to stop the movement of two touching things. The energy lost to friction is turned into sound and heat. Two kinds of friction are static and kinetic. Static friction is when the friction is strong enough to stop movement between two objects.
