define frictional force and sliding friction
Answers
☘WHAT Is Force ?
⇒A force is an push or pull on an object resulting from the interaction's of object with another object. Whenever there is an interaction between two objects three is a force upon each of the objects.
☘Define Friction Force ?
⇒Friction is the force that resists motion when the surface of one object comes in contact with the surface of another.
Frictional force refers to the force that is generated when two surfaces come in contact and slide against each other.
☘Define Sliding Force ?
⇒Sliding friction as the resistance created by any two objects when sliding against each other. This friction is also known as kinetic friction and is defined as the force that is needed to keep a surface sliding along another surface. It depends on two variables one is material and the other is the weight of the object. Any change in the surface area in contact does not change the sliding friction.
Question :-
Define the Frictional force and the Sliding Friction !
Answer :-
Frictional Force —
Definition :-
Friction is the force which opposes the relative motion of on body over the other.
In other words ;
The Force which act in a direction opposite to the direction of motion of an object to cause a declaration is known as Frictional force.
How Friction is Produced ? :-
Suppose two surfaces are there which looks very smooth , but if that surfaces are seen under microscope , we will get to see that many ridges and depressions are there.
And when the surfaces of the two different bodies are brought in contact with each other , their irregularities interlock and will oppose the relative motion of one body over other.
TYPes of Friction :
In real world , three types of friction are there :-
- Static Friction
- Kinetic Friction or Dynamic Friction or Sliding Friction
- Rolling Friction
So this was about friction !!
Now let's talk about the Sliding Friction.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Sliding Friction :-
Key Word :-
This Friction is also called as Dynamic Friction or Kinetic Friction.
Definition :-
The Friction which is developed between the sliding body and thr surface on which it is sliding is known as Sliding Friction .
Laws of SlidinG Friction :-
The Sliding Friction of a body is directly proportional to the normal reaction force and it doesn't depends on the velocity with which it is moving.i.e,
Or we can say that ;
Where ,
- = Sliding Friction
- = Co-effecient of Friction of sliding friction.
- R = Normal Reaction force.
Here , depends on the nature of material of which the bodies are made and nature of the surface .
[Note :- doesn't depends on the velocity with which the body is moving]
Dynamic Friction is less than the static limiting Friction.
