The process of applying a zinc coating on steel or iron to prevent rusting is called as galvanization.

  • Two galvanized material being used in our daily life are steel used in kitchen and automobile parts.
  • The steel and iron can be prevented by covering a coating of zinc on steel and iron materials.
  • The zinc coating prevents the steel and iron to get in contact with atmosphere and water easily and directly.
  • The galvanizing process consists of three steps :- Surface preparation, fuxing and galvanizing.
  • It is a common method which is used to protects iron and steel articles from atmospheric air, chemical reactions, hot climate and water which causes rusting and corrosion.
