Gene pool can be defined as a place where all the genes of every individual species live in a population.
It is important in analyzing the genetic diversity of the population.
If the population is more genetically diverse then there are better chances of acquiring traits that boost biological fitness and survival.
In other words, Gene pool is important to give an idea about the number of genes, the variety of genes and the type of genes existing in a population which can be helpful in determining the gene ratio and frequency.
