1. Stratigraphy-It is the science which deals with the description, correlation and classification of strata in sedimentary rocks including the interpretation of the depositional environment.
2. Historical Geology-The study of Stratigraphy and Palaeontology is included under historical geology.It gives a picture of the land and seas, the climate and early life of early times upon the earth.
3. Structural Geology-It deals with the study of structures of the rocks in the earth's crust.
