Answer:

kidneys are vital organs for survival. Several factors like restricted blood flow to kidneys, infections or injury reduce the activity of kidneys. this leads accumulation of wastes in the body, which can even lead to death. hence, in case of kidney failure artificial kidney can be used.artificial kidney is used to remove nitrogenous waste products from the blood through dialysis. it contains a number of tubes with semi permeable lining ,suspended in the tank with dialysing fluid. this fluid has the same osmotic pressure except that it is devoid of nitrogenous wastes. the patients blood is passed through the tubes. the wastes in the blood taken out by diffusing the wastes into the dialysing fluids. then the purified blood is pumped back into the patients body. this is similar to the kidney in body but different since re-absorption is not involved.
