Define heterogeneous mixture in chemistry with examples

Mixtures in two or more phases are heterogeneous mixtures. Examples include ice cubes in a drink, sand and water, and salt and oil. The liquid that is immiscible form heterogeneous mixtures. A good example is a mixture of oil and water.

Heterogenous Mixtures:-

Those mixtures in which the substance remain separate and one substance is spread throughout the other substances as small particles droplets and small bubbles are called heterogenous mixture.

• Heterogenous mixture doesn't have a uniform composition throughout its mass.

For example:- sugar and sand mixtures, poluted air , gun-powder etc.
