Homologous series are those series which contains alkanes, alkenes and alkynes , alcohol and all the functional groups. The homologous series of alcohol is methanol, Ethanol, propanol, etc.... The two characteristics of homologous series are:-

1) Same functional groups

2) Similar chemical properties
