Define how resources have value?

Answer: Resources have value because they are scarce and because some people want them. And people want air but it's not scare on Earth so it likewise has no value.  Because it's valued by someone that means they are willing to give something up for it.

Value means the worth of a resource. Some resources have economic value, while some do not. Metals for example, may have an economic value. A beautiful landscape however may not. But both are important and satisfy human needs and so have value.
