The process of crossing two genetically different individuals to obtain a new individual exhibiting desirable characteristics. the steps to be followedfor obtaining seeds of a hybrid variety are as follows :-

1》Take two varieties of plants A and B desired characteristics

2》Anthers of plant are removed. This process is called emasculation

3》Anthers from Plant B are taken and its pollen are dusted on stigmas of A

4》Stigmas of A are then covered by paper bags

5》By such cross breeding two desire varieties. Seeds of a hybrid variety can be obtained which are termed as genetically modified crops
