A hydathode is a type of pore, commonly found in angiosperms, that secretes water through pores in the epidermis or leaf margin, typically at the tip of a marginal tooth or serration. ... These cells (called epithem cells) open out into one or more sub-epidermal chambers.

Hope it helps!!

Answer:

  • Hydathodes are structures containing water pores located at leaf margins (Cook et al., 1952) that connect to the intracellular spaces and to the xylem vascular system.
  • A hydathode is a pore or opening in the leaf epidermis around which several thin walled parenchyma cells are grouped. Guttation takes place through hydathodes, which is loss of water in liquid form from uninjured parts of the plants specially from the tips and leaf margins.
