These substances absorb moisture from air, e.g., quicklime, P2O5, anhydrous CuSO4, silica gel.

⭐Deliquescent substance⤵

These substances gain large amount of moisture from air and they pass into solution, e.g., NaOH, KOH, CaCl2, MgCl2, etc.

⭐Efflorescent substance⤵

These are crystalline substances, which lose their water-content fully ir partly, e.g., CuSO4.5H2O, Na2SO4.10H2O, Na2CO3.10H2O, etc.
