☛ If the medium surrounding the cell has a lower concentration of water than the cell which means that it is a very concentrated Solution,then the cell will lose water by osmosis.This Solution is called hypertonic Solution.

  • If an animal cell is placed in a hypertonic Solution ,water crosses the cell membrane in both direction but more water leaves the cell then enters it.As a result the water flow out of the cell causing it to shrink.
