Impulse is defined as the product of large force acting at a point for very short time.
OR
The Change of the momentum of a body is equal to the impulse applied on the body.
example- A person falling on cemented floor receive more injuries then the person falling on the heap of sand because when the person falling on the heap of sand have more time to yield so the force on body becomes less for some impulse and he recieve less injury.
