An inclained plane is usually used to lift a heavy load to a required height.I think you have seen labourers using an incline wooden plank to load heavy barrels and boxes. Like it is used in to load a car wooden planks and trucks very easily.
If I mountain is very steep a car cannot climb up. We cut a windowing road into the mountain so that it the car can climb easily. The winding road is in fact an inclined plane
However that is not shaped in a straight Line.
I hope helps you

An inclined plane, also known as a ramp, is a flat supporting surface tilted at an angle, with one end higher than the other, used as an aid for raising or lowering a load. The inclined plane is one of the six classical simple machines defined by Renaissance scientists.
