Inertia- It is the inability of the body to change by itself its state of rest or uniform motion or direction.
Types of Inertia- It is of three types-(1)Inertia of rest (2) Inertia of motion(3) Inertia of direction

(1) Inertia of rest - It is the inability of the body to change by itself its state if rest. For eg.- Dust comes put when a carpet is beaten with a stick.

(2) Inertia of motion - It is the inability of the body to change by itself its state of uniform motion. For eg.- Passangers fall forwards when a sudden force is applied on a moving bus.

(3) Inertia of direction - It is the inability of the body to change by itself its direction. For eg.- Passengers are thrown away from centre when the bus takes a sharp turn.

Hope it helps^_^

Answer:

inertia of a body is the inability of a body to change by itself it's state of rest or uniform motion. in other words, it is the property of a body due to which it resists a change in its state of rest or of uniform motion..

There are three types of inertia:-inertia of rest, inertia of motion and inertia of direction.
