1)The instantaneous rxn is the rate of change of concentration of reactants and product s in a very small time interval hence the change is negligible

2)in pseudo first order reactions the actual rxn is second order but it behaves as a first order rxn as out of the two reactants one is in excess

CH3I +H2O(excess)-----CH3OH +H+ +I-
