The numbers which cannot be written in the for of p/q (where p is an integer and q isn't equal to 0) are called irrational numbers.
root2 , root 2639418 etc.
Thr non terminating repeating numbers are called irrational numbers eg. 473.572920364520
548.62950274631830 etc.

A number which is non - terminating and cannot expressed in ratio or in simplest form and are expressed in decimal is called irrational number.
For example - √20/3 = √6.66
A number can be expressed in the form of p/q where p and q both are integers q is also equal to zero but it should not be terminating are called irrational number. It cannot be written as fraction.
For example - √22/7 =√3.14
Hope it helps you.
