Pollination :
Pollination occurs when a pollen grain is transferred by insects, birds or the wind from the stamen (male part) of one flower to stigma (female part) of another.
Wind pollinated plants like grasses and conifers have no need of colour of perfume.
Plants pollinated by insects are usually large, brightly coloured and sweet smelling.
Insect visit flowers to collect the nectar and by default deliver the pollen.
Once the pollination has occurred, the flower dies back as the seeds develop.
