Answer:

The adult human skeletal system has a complex architecture that includes 206 named bones connected by cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and three types of joints:

synarthroses (immovable)

amphiarthroses (slightly movable)

diarthroses (freely movable)

Although the actual number of joints in any one person depends on a number of variables, the estimated number is between 250 and 350.

Question:-

Define Joint in human skeleton. Write name how many types of Joint?

Answer:-

  • Joints are the areas where 2 or more bones meet.

  • Most joints are mobile, allowing the bones to move.

  • Joints consist of the following: Cartilage.

  • This is a type of tissue that covers the surface of a bone at a joint.

There are three types of joint:

  • Cartilage
  • Tendons
  • Ligaments

1) Cartilage:-

Cartilage is a tough but flexible tissue that is the main type of connective tissue in the body. Around 65–80% of cartilage is water, although that decreases in older people, and the rest is a gel-like substance called the 'matrix' that gives it its form and function.

2) Tendons:-

a flexible but inelastic cord of strong fibrous collagen tissue attaching a muscle to a bone.

3) Ligaments:-

a short band of tough, flexible fibrous connective tissue which connects two bones or cartilages or holds together a joint.
