I hope this will help....
kinetic energy is the energy of an object which is in a state of motion ..
now
E = 1/2 mv^2
I.e, E = 1/2 mv^2 × 1
I.e. E = 1/2 Mv ^2 ×m/m
I.e. E =(Mv)^2/2m
I.e. E =p^2/2m ...... (1). ( since p=Mv)

now if p becomes 2p
then E2= (2p)^2 /2m
I.e. E 2 = 4 p^2 / 2m
E2 = 4E..... from 1
thence the energy will become 4 times
