Define kinetic energy. Write an expression for kinetic energy and the SI unit of kinetic energy. Two cars are

moving with velocities 36 km/h and 54 km/h on a highway. Find the ratio of their kinetic energies if mass of the cars is

√ Here is ur questions answer:

√ Kinetic energy :

⇒ Energy possessed by a body due to its motion. Kinetic energy of an object increases with its speed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

√ An expression for kinetic energy of an object:

⇒ If a body mass m is moving with a velocity v, then its kinetic energy Ek is given by the expression,

Ek= ½ mv power2 .

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

√ SI unit of kinetic energy:

⇒ Joules

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

√ Ratio of their kinetic energies if mass of the cars is400 kg and 600 kg respectively are :

⇒ Kinetic energy = 1/2m x v x v
So,
1/2x36x400=1/2x54x600
=4:9
