  • Define land breeze and sea breeze.

\huge\underline\bold\red{AnswEer}

\sf\purple{Land \ breeze:-}

  • Land breeze blows during night time.
  • During the night, the land cools down faster and the sea water is still warm.
  • The warm air above the sea rises up. Cooler air from above the land rushes to take its place.
  • Thus, a cool breeze blows from the land towards the sea which is called land breeze.

  • Sea breeze blows during the day time.
  • During daytime, land heats up faster than water. The air above the land also gets heated and rises up.
  • Sea water is cooler, the air above the sea water is also cooler and rushes to take the place left by the hot air.
  • Hence, cool breeze blows from the sea towards the land which is sea breeze.

Land Breeze:-

Land Breeze:-A sea breeze or onshore breeze is any wind that blows from a large body of water toward or onto a landmass; it develops due to differences in air pressure created by the differing heat capacities of water and dry land. As such, sea breezes are more localised than prevailing winds.

Sea Breeze:-

Sea Breeze:- Sea breezes occur during hot, summer days because of the unequal heating rates of land and water. During the day, the land surface heats up faster than the water surface. ... As the warm air over the land is rising, the cooler air over the ocean is flowing over the land surface to replace the rising warm air.
