Latent Heat of Vaporization :
The amount of heat energy required to change 1kg of a substance ,that is in liquid state ,to gaseous state ; at atmospheric pressure ; and also at the boiling point of the substance. When we boil water , the water evaporates at 100 °C, and all the given heat is absorbed by the liquid. This absorbed heat is called latent heat of vaporization and is taken by vapor molecules

The heat that is required for changing water into vapors. It is known as latent heat bcoz it is hidden.
