Latent heat of vapourization : The heat energy required to change 1 gram of liquid to gas at a constant temperature is called latent heat of vapourization .

Hi friend!!!

Latent heat is the heat which is hidden by the thermometer and is not shown in the thermometer even if u provide heat continuously to something.

Latent heat of vaporisation is like melting ,the temperature of liquid doesn't change even if u provide continuous heat to it ,that is , temperature will be same till the whole water is converted to gas.

This is so because when u provide heat to Liquid ,the heat is used to break down the forces of attraction between Liquid and to increase the kinetic energy.

Latent heat of vaporisation is the amount of heat required to convert one unit of mass of a liquid substance into vapour at its boiling point without any change in temperature.

SI unit of latent heat of vaporisation is Joule/kilogram.(J/kg).

Hope it helps!!!!
