When boling water, at 100℃ the water does not change its temperature, Eventhough you are heating it. There is a hidden heat which is captured by the remaining water and it is used to get converted into gaseous state. Thus is called latent heat of vaporization.

:- the amount of heat energy that is required to change 1 kg of a liquid into gas at atmospheric pressure without any change of temperature at its boiling point is known as latent heat of vaporisation
