Hey friend......!

The definition of a lichen is a plant found on rocks or trees made of both a specific fungus and a specific algae that help one another.

An example of a lichen is the coloured patch growing on a tree branch.

Lichens are the organisms that are formed by the symbiotic relationship or association of the fungus and the green algae or cyanobacteria. Fungus provides moisture, minerals to algae & in turn algae provides food through the process of photosynthesis. They are slow-growing and typically forms a low crust-like or leaf-like branching growth on rocks, walls, and trees.
